As of 3 am this morning, Severe Tropical Cyclone Mal was situated 145 km west-southwest of Nadi, 150 km south-southwest of Viwa, or 225 km west-northwest of Kadavu. It maintains maximum sustained winds of 65 knots (120 km/hr) with gusts reaching 90 knots (165 km/hr) near its center, and a minimum central pressure of 970 hPa.
