Welcome to the website of the Catholic Church of Holy Rood, Watford. The church was built by J.F. Bentley over twelve years, with its completion and dedication taking place in 1900. Today the parish serves the southern and western areas of Watford below the great north-western rail line.

Parish Mass Times. Sunday Mass: (Sat Vigil 6pm), 8am, 9.30am, 11am, 12.30pm, 2.15pm (Polish) Holy Day Mass As Announced. Weekday Mass: Monday 8.30am & 12noon. Tuesday 8.30am (followed by Exposition and Benediction until 11.30am), 12noon. Wednesday 12noon.

The building of the Church – Roman Catholic Parish of Watford
Bentley produced the plans for Holy Rood in 1889 with Canon Keans laying the foundation stone of the building, on behalf of Cardinal Manning, on 29th August. It opened in mid September 1890, by the Rt. Rev. William Weathers, Bishop of Amyela.
