The advantages of X570 are be PCIe 4.0 on the "extra" PCIe slots few people use, and 2 PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots vs 1 PCIe 4.0 & 1 PCIe 3.0. The B550's also have better networking at cheaper prices and some have type C internal headers.

Frankly, b550 vs x570 is simple. If you want to save money and don’t need 2 m.2 pcie 4 slots than for b550. If you need the 2 m.2 pcie 4.0 slots, go for x570. The main problem I see with b550: people recommending b550 boards more expensive than x570 boards. If you are planning on spending that much, it is better to get an x570 board.

Find the board that meets your needs. Number of fan headers, number of USB ports, number of m.2 SSD slots, built in RGB support, built in watercooling support, etc.

Nov 15, 2020 · Well it isnt entirely true. Some b550 have better vrm than the x570. A 200€ dolar x570 should be in paper worse than a 200€ b550. In fact i bought a b550e for 230€ that does have 14 70A Power stages, and some x570 have 50A stages. In conclusion. Top of the line b550 are better than entry/mid level x570 for overclocking.
