What is/was the best Flashcart for the DS family of consoles?
Oct 25, 2024 · Using a flashcart with a 3DS had always largely been my personal use case, and for that, the r4ids.cn ones were the best on the market for a while. They worked on latest firmware without a hitch, didn't have the timebomb most other carts did, and ran Wood.

On hacked DSi, there exists the option to play DS games using nds-bootstrap. This allows games to be loaded from DSi's SD card and skip flashcarts entirely, however it doesn't have perfect compatibility. A dedicated flashcart is better (for now at least). There is also the option of hacking your DSi to run homebrew and emulate older consoles.

(Also, save money buy buying the older RTS version) I've heard the Acekard 2i has the best battery life, and it can be found for around the same price. It's not a budget card, but I'd recommend the Supercard DSTWO/DSTWO+.
