Samara Morgan is the main antagonist of The Ring film series and the Western adaptation of Sadako Yamamura from the original Koji Suzuki novel, as well as from the Ringu franchise. A ghost, Samara was once a child gifted with the psychic ability known as nensha.

Rachel discovers that Anna had adopted a girl, Samara, who possessed the ability to psychically etch images onto objects and into people's minds, tormenting her parents and their horses. Noah finds a psychiatric file on Samara that mentions a terrifying video record last seen by Richard.

Samara is shown to be an innocent victim seeking some form of attention, particularly after her death and the creation of the video tape, so the world can know of her pain and suffering. She very otherworldly, hardly talking and being social, and spends hours on end standing around and staring at items of interest without moving.

She was portrayed by Daveigh Chase in The Ring and The Ring Two, Kelly Stables in Rings and The Ring Two, and Bonnie Morgan in the 2017 film Rings.
