Nikita Kucherov scored before he was ejected for kneeing Matthew Tkachuk, and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Florida Panthers 4-0 in a chippy game.

Florida Panthers star winger Matthew Tkachuk briefly left Monday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning after a knee-on-knee collision late in the first period with Tampa Bay’s Nikita Kucherov. Tkachuk returned about two minutes into the second period to a roaring round of applause from the home crowd.

Two shorthanded goals are the difference in an otherwise even contest as Florida sends Tampa Bay to its first loss in 5 games.
