Louisville outscored UNC 13-1 in the game’s final three minutes to pull away and beat the Tar Heels in ACC basketball on Wednesday night.

The North Carolina Tar Heels basketball program doesn't appear to have the "new year, new me" mindset as the calendar has flipped to 2025. The Tar Heels struggled to open up the 2025 calendar year, falling to Louisville 83-70 on the road Wednesday night.

A three-point heavy team, Louisville used defense and shooting inside the arc to put away North Carolina. The Cardinals shot 20-for-32 on two point tries with 38 points in the paint, making up for a 6-of-26 showing on three-point attempts which brought down their field goal percentage to 44.8.

Chucky Hepburn scored 26 points as host Louisville defeated North Carolina 83-70 in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup on Wednesday night.
