Aldis Hodge says Ben Watkins' TV adaptation of James Patterson's iconic "Alex Cross" books series, "Cross," is the show he's been wanting to do his entire acting career, saying he feels comfortable coming to work on a series that authentically portrays the Black community and its diverse culture.

Prime Video is betting that the small screen will be the right home for Alex Cross as the titular detective's new series “Cross” starring Aldis Hodge debuts Thursday.

Alex Cross, the literary world’s well-known crime detective, is receiving a makeover in the latest television adaptation, “Cross,” coming to Amazon Prime on Nov. 14.

Aldis Hodge told UPI that no downside existed in bringing the iconic Washington homicide detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross to the small screen for the first time.

Aldis Hodge isn't the first Alex Cross, but he is the only one with a TV show: "Cross," which puts a realistic spin on the James Patterson books.
