Even after leaving Cleveland, Carlos Santana remained a fan favorite and was warmly welcomed back as a visitor. He’s home again.

The house in Bratenahl, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, had special meaning for Carlos Santana and his wife, Brittany. It was the first home Santana, a native of the Dominican Republic, purchased in the United States, back in 2012 after he signed his first multi-year deal. All four of the Santanas’ children were born in the Cleveland area.

Cleveland has reportedly signed Carlos Santana to a one-year deal, and he'll return to the organization where he makes his major league debut for a third stint.

The Guardians then signed switch-hitting first baseman Carlos Santana, to a one-year, $12 million free agent contract. So, just before Christmas, Diamondbacks fans will get a tremendous prize in their stocking. Left-handed hitting Naylor, 27, hit 31 home runs, and drove in 108 runs for Cleveland in his 633 plate appearances this past season.

Despite reaching the American League Championship Series this past postseason, the Cleveland Guardians are shuffling their roster. They traded first baseman Josh Naylor to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday but wasted no time in acquiring his replacement.

Passan reported earlier Saturday that the Guardians also traded first baseman Josh Naylor to the Arizona Diamondbacks, paving the way for Santana to make his return to Cleveland.
