JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Columbus, Ohio-based American Freight has started the process of shuttering stores across the country. Hilco Consumer-Retail is managing the operation of the closures which include 328 locations nationwide, according to reports. The company has more than 30 Florida locations including three in Jacksonville.

Furniture store American Freight is closing all of its 328 locations in the U.S., including its 33 Florida stores, as a part of Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings by its parent company Franchise Group.

Franchise Group Inc., which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Nov. 3, says it will close all its American Freight furniture stores, including three in Jacksonville.

Store closing sales have begun in-store and online, with discounts of up to 30% off the lowest ticketed prices.

A popular furniture store is closing more than 300 locations nationwide, including one in Austin. The Ohio-based chain American Freight is shutting down 30 locations in Texas, including its lone Austin storefront in northwest Austin at The Shops at Anderson Arbor.
