Jon Stewart just won his 23rd Emmy on Sunday night, and his first nearly a decade as part of the team on "The Daily Show."

Stewart hosted the Comedy Central series starting in 1999. When he left, Trevor Noah took the the helm and led the show until the end of 2022, after which “The Daily Show” had a series of guest hosts, including Jersey’s own Kal Penn. When the show won the 2023 Emmy for outstanding talk series in January, Noah and the cast accepted the award.

Show was named best talk series at the 2024 Emmys on Sunday, winning the category for the second year in a row. The 2023 Emmys saw The Daily Show win for the final season of Trevor Noah’s tenure as host — and the first time since Jon Stewart left as full-time host in 2015.
