Bryan Kohberger's defense has asked that a hearing on the use of Investigative Genetic Genealogy be opened to the public.

In a new court filing, the defense team is petitioning the court to make public records detailing the way DNA evidence was used by detectives in building the case against Kohberger.

Lawyers for Kohberger said the prosecution broke a rule by failing to include opinions and reports in expert disclosures.
