Manchester City’s hopes of reigniting their Premier League title defence were virtually extinguished after being held to a 2-2 draw at Brentford thanks to two late goals from the home team.

Foden struck twice in the second half to seemingly steer Pep Guardiola's side to a fourth straight win in all competitions but Brentford, who had threatened aplenty in an end to end encounter in the capital, rallied in the closing eight minutes.
