Stellantis NV and Volkswagen AG shares declined as some of their plug-in cars lost access to US tax credits under tougher rules that took effect this week.

The data was found exposed on an Amazon cloud server, and contained precise location data on thousands of vehicles.

The leak affected roughly 800,000 Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, and Skoda electric cars, but for roughly 460,000 of them, including Volkswagen's ID.3 and ID.4 models, the data was very detailed, and included locations where the car was switched on and off.

Data on 800,000 VW electric cars sat exposed for months, including the precise location of nearly 460,000 EVs. It does not appear that any of that info was accessed by bad actors, though.
