The Utah Hockey Club opened up training camp at the Olympic Oval in Kearns on Thursday with 60 players in camp. There were two sessions, and for everyone involved, they said it felt good to be back out on the ice.

"With Arizona, a lot of things were up in the air with the arena situation," forward Lawson Crouse said. "It's clear we now have a home. We can move on from all those distractions and just go play hockey. And we're really looking forward to doing that." That starts on Thursday when the team convenes for training camp at the Utah Olympic Oval.

Utah has two more days of practice before another first for the franchise: its first preseason game, against the St. Louis Blues in Des Moines, Iowa, on Sunday. The regular-season opener is at home Oct. 8 against the Chicago Blackhawks at Delta Center.
