Last-minute Christmas shoppers made the best of Christmas Eve, as thousands of people flooded Colorado stores to pick up their final gifts before the holiday.

For the first time, liquor stores in Colorado could stay open on Christmas. It's part of a new law that went into effect this year. In May, Colorado Governor Jared Polis signed a bill into law allowing liquor stores to stay open on the holiday. Until now, it was the only day of the year they were required to keep closed.

Typically, most businesses are closed on Christmas Day. Beginning this year, Colorado liquor stores no longer have to be.
