Mayor George Brown, at Thursday’s regular council meeting, gave an update on efforts to rebuild a local baseball field after it was heavily damaged by a Fourth of July fire last year.

A developer expects the construction of 120 units of higher-end multi-family housing in Downtown Wilkes-Barre to begin in six to eight months, now that the project received zoning authorizations.
