That said, if the former heavyweight champion has hung up his gloves, Joshua’s next move may be less clear. After “AJ”’s knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September, and Fury’s two decision defeats by Oleksandr Usyk in 2024, it seemed fans would finally get to see Joshua vs Fury. Just as it looked like talks to finally make the long awaited Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight could commence, Fury announced that he would retire; Joshua is now left looking at alternative options;

"I would like to announce my retirement from boxing. It’s been a blast, I’ve loved every single minute of it," Fury said on Instagram

The announcement comes after Fury suffered a second defeat of his career by Oleksandr Usyk last month in Saudi Arabia.
