SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Basketball Hall of Famer Gregg Popovich is recovering from what the San Antonio Spurs described as a mild stroke, though there is no timetable for the NBA’s longest-tenured coach to return to the sideline.

The Spurs announced the diagnosis on Wednesday. The Spurs organization had closed ranks around Popovich since he went out on Nov. 2 with what the team called at the time a "health issue," although the way they reacted suggested this was not a simple cold or flu that might cost him a handful of games.

The Spurs provided a diagnosis and update on coach Gregg Popovich's status, saying he is continuing to recover after suffering a mild stroke Nov. 2.
