The Ohio State basketball team won its third in a row with a victory over Penn State on the road Thursday night.

Penn State basketball positioned Thursday's game against Ohio State as a pivotal turning point on the Big Ten schedule. The Nittany Lions were at home, where they had a 10-1 record, and even better at Rec Hall, site of last year's magical 90-89 win over No. 12 Illinois. Instead, the Nittany Lions came undone.

Ohio State heads to Happy Valley for a matchup with Penn State and looks to extend its win streak to three games.

There were plenty of boos and jeers, alongside general disappointment, from a crowd of 6,198 as Penn State returned to its longtime home Rec Hall on Thursday against Ohio State. The Nittany Lions fell in their third straight game,

John Mobley Jr. led a quartet of double-digit scorers with 19 points as Ohio State (13-8, 5-5) defeated Penn State (13-9, 3-8) in its return to Rec Hall, 83-64. Bruce Thornton scored 17 points (5-for-7 from 3) while Devin Royal (15 points and eight rebounds) and Micah Parrish (12 points) combined for 27 in the win.

In what appears to be an annual tradition, the Penn State Nittany Lions will play in Rec Hall against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Revived a season ago by head coach Mike Rhoades, the Lions took down Illinois in a thriller.

Penn State returns from a two-game road trip to host Ohio State in Rec Hall. This will be the second-straight year playing in the former gym.
