A new, bendable type of concrete being invented at Michigan State University can "self-heal" and "self-heat," potentially eliminating the need to salt or brine roads for snow.

An inch or two of fresh snow had fallen in parts of the Lansing area as of Thursday afternoon. Once again, the roads were slick.
