When you talk about some of the greatest football coaches of all time, and not just NFL coaches or college coaches, but just football coaches, and the greatest minds in the sport, it's nearly impossible not to bring up Pete Carroll.

Former USC Trojans coach Pete Carroll was formally announced as the coach of the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday. The introductory press conference was full of the signature Carroll enthusiasm and a surprise appearance from NFL running back Marshawn Lynch.

The Las Vegas Raiders are hiring Pete Carroll to be the team’s head coach, according to reports. ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero first reported the news. CNN has reached out to the Raiders for comment.
