The Belgian Grand Prix has signed a new six-year deal with Formula 1, but will only be in the calendar in four out of those six seasons.

The Belgian Grand Prix will move to a rotational race slot on the F1 calendar as part of a new multi-year contract extension. The world famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit's current contract was due to expire at the end of 2025 but it has secured its future for 2026 and beyond. It comes after several recent short-term deals.

The Belgian Grand Prix will appear on the F1 calendar for four of the next six seasons after 2025, taking place in 2026, 2027, 2029 and 2031. It marks a first step from F1 to introduce circuit rotation to its calendar amid sizable demand from countries around the world to host a grand prix.

It was on the inaugural Formula 1 calendar in 1950, one of four races from that first season still run as an F1 event at its original track. On Wednesday, F1 announced that it has committed to keeping that tradition going through 2031,

The Belgian Grand Prix is one of the best racing events on Earth. In spite of that, Formula 1 is demoting the Spa race to part-time status.
