Sierra Leone has won 3-year-old male honors at the Eclipse Awards, given to the best horse and human performances over the past year.
Thorpedo Anna won Horse of the Year honors at the Eclipse Awards on Thursday night, becoming only the second 3-year-old filly to beat male competition for the top trophy.
The 3-year-old filly is crowned Horse of the Year while National Treasure (older male on dirt), Straight No Chaser (male sprinter) and Citizen Bull (2-year-old male) bring home championships.
For the first time since Flightline, a Southern California horse has won an Eclipse Award, with Citizen Bull taking the 2-Year-Old Male award for Bob Baffert.
