Netflix has ordered a Little House on the Prairie series, 40-plus years after a long-running adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved books aired its last episode on NBC. The new version comes from showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine ( The Boys, The Vampire Diaries ).
Sonnenshine is the executive producer and showrunner of the new Little House on the Prairie reboot at Netflix. Per IMDb, among her producing credits are Bunny (2000), Reversion (2008), The Vampire Diaries, Outcast, The Crossing, Archive 81 and The Boys.
The long-gestating project from CBS Studios and Anonymous Content was first announced in 2020. According to Deadline, the Netflix series will follow the Ingalls family — Charles, his wife Caroline, and their children Laura and Mary — as well as characters from the Osage tribe the Ingalls family encounters in Kansas.
