On Saturday, January 18th, the Devils’ afternoon plans were derailed by the Philadelphia Flyers, who handed them their third consecutive loss with a 3-1 win at Prudential Center, extending their losing streak and giving the Flyers their second straight victory.

Forward Jesper Bratt thought he finally provided the Devils with an offensive spark when he slipped through the Flyers’ defense and hammered a one-timer to give them the lead. Except after review, he didn’t.

On a day when the teams were blocking pucks left and right — they combined for 32 on net — the Flyers beat the New Jersey Devils, 3-1, Saturday. Travis Konecny scored an empty-netter with 3 seconds remaining.

NEWARK, N.J. — The Flyers won a defensive grind over the Devils, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at the Prudential Center. Matvei Michkov and Bobby Brink provided the Flyers' first two goals. Brink's came in the third period on the power play to give the Flyers the lead. Noah Cates and Tyson Foerster had assists on the marker.
