The grocery store chain confirmed on Monday that it has plans to open a location in Cranberry on Cool Spring Drive, near the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. Wegmans says the new store will sell a variety of food, including produce, bakery goods and deli products, and offer a large selection of wine and beer.

Wegmans is coming. Wegmans executives said they are eyeing late 2027 as the target date to open their recently announced Cranberry location and hinted there could be more stores coming to the Pittsburgh area.

The new location will be part of the Cranberry Springs mixed-use development, which includes luxury single-family homes and apartments, Class A office buildings and other retail operations, including restaurants. The company expects to hire 400 to 500 employees, the majority of them local.

Wegmans, known for its high-quality products, exceptional customer service, and consistently low prices, is ready to expand its branch in the Pittsburgh area.

Wegmans says it will build a new grocery store in Cranberry Township, Butler County, near the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in the Cranberry Springs development.

Wegmans, based in Rochester, is a supermarket chain with 110 stores across eight states (New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Delaware) and Washington, D.C. The company recently expanded in New York City and plans to open three new stores in 2025 in Maryland, Connecticut and Long Island.

This will be the first Wegmans Food Market in the Pittsburgh region. The 115,000-square-foot store will be built in Cranberry.

The Rochester-based supermarket chain already has a number of stores throughout Pennsylvania, but this will be its first store in the Pittsburgh region.
