Mia le Roux, South Africa’s trailblazing beauty queen, has withdrawn from the Miss Universe finals in Mexico due to health concerns. The 28-year-old, who made history in August as the first deaf woman to be crowned Miss South Africa, was set to compete among 120 contestants at the prestigious 73rd Miss Universe pageant this weekend.

Miss South Africa, Mia Le Roux, has released a statement confirming her withdrawal from the anticipated Miss Universe pageant, stating health concerns.

Due to health concerns, Miss South Africa Mia le Roux has withdrawn from the 73rd Miss Universe pageant. For the past few weeks, Le Roux has been in Mexico, participating in various events and preparing for the finale, which will take place on Saturday, 16 November.

Miss South Africa Mia Le Roux is the second contestant to exit the Miss Universe pageant in 2024. Earlier, Miss Universe Panama, Italy Mora, was disqualified after leaving her hotel without permission.

Mia’s exit comes a few days after Italy Mora, Miss Panama, was removed from the competition for allegedly joining Juan Abadía, her boyfriend, in his hotel room in Mexico without permission from organisers.
