Barcelona won the Spanish Super Cup in resounding fashion on Sunday, defeating rivals Real Madrid 5-2 in the first edition of El Clasico in the new year. Kylian Mbappe gave Real Madrid the lead just five minutes in but Barcelona played well throughout the first half and were rewarded for their hard work.

Real Madrid recently suffered a hammering El Clasico defeat in the Spanish Super Cup Final. Jude Bellingham, despite his rich vein of form, couldn't help his team out in the game on Sunday, January 12.

Both managers named unchanged teams for the third straight Clasico final in the four-team Spanish Super Cup held in the Middle East, with Madrid having had a day less to prepare after beating Real Mallorca 3-0 on Thursday night to follow Barcelona’s 2-0 victory over Athletic Club 24 hours earlier.
