Mashable reached out to Sony to find out whether the company expects the PS5 Pro to sell out quickly at launch since initial availability is limited to one retailer, and if it had any plans to avoid inventory shortages. At the time of writing, we hadn't heard back.

PlayStation Direct will be the only retailer taking pre-orders today (the lone exception will be the DualSense 30th Anniversary Edition, which will be available at “participating retailers), so make sure you have a PlayStation Network account set up (and if you don't go make one, right now), and then follow our live updates.

The PS5 Pro will cost $1,199 AUD in Australia and release on November 7th with pre-orders beginning on September 26th. This doesn’t include a disc drive, so we’ve done the price for both together as well (it can be purchased for $159 separately ).

Although the next generation of gaming consoles aren’t here yet, Sony just announced the new PlayStation 5 Pro — a new console that boasts improved and detailed graphics, silky smooth motion for gaming and deeper immersion for all PS5 games.

It's fair to say that PS5 Pro pre-orders were a bit chaotic when they went live on September 26. Reminiscent of the early days of the PS5, customers were forced to queue to purchase the new and improved console from the PlayStation Direct website.

The PS5 Pro is now available to pre-order from Sony's official PlayStation Direct website, and it'll hit retail partners soon.
