A leak on AMD ’s incoming Strix Point Halo chips shows the configurations and apparently official names for these powerful CPUs for driving gaming laptops (and maybe handhelds) – but less welcome is a fresh hint that these processors might be eye-wateringly expensive.

Fortunately, AMD has just such a thing on the horizon. We've written quite a bit about the upcoming Strix Halo already, but thanks to a new leak from the ever-informative "Golden Pig Upgrade Pack", we now have an idea of how AMD could brand these processors.

AMD's upcoming Ryzen AI Max 390 was tested in Geekbench AI's openVINO CPU test. The 12-core chip failed to outperform a previous generation Zen 4 eight-core mobile CPU.
