A supermoon occurs whenever a full moon coincides with the moon approaching its closest distance to the Earth—a point, known as perigee, that’s about 226,000 miles away—during its 27-day orbit, though NASA does not recognize it as an official astronomical term.

November's full moon, known as the Beaver Moon, will peak tomorrow and is the fourth and final time stargazers will be able to see a supermoon in 2024. Like October's full moon, the Beaver Moon won't be at full peak at night, but there will be plenty of moonlight to be seen heading into the weekend.

November's full moon will appear bigger and brighter than other full moons, since it reaches peak lunation at the point in its elliptical orbit closest to Earth.
