Carson Beck has been through his first team meeting at Miami, and he’s starting to build relationships with his new teammates with the Hurricanes already working out in advance of the 2025 season.

The Hurricanes aren’t totally sure of that timing. But they are thrilled to have landed Beck, who committed to Miami last week in a massive transfer-portal win for the Hurricanes — who saw another transfer, Cam Ward, have a 2024 season that could make him the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft.

That seems to be the path Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is traversing after the former star Bulldogs QB committed to Miami on Friday, just one day after entering the transfer portal.  Many draft pundits considered Beck a first-round draft pick heading into the 2024 campaign.

ESPN's staff writers have come together to predict the 2025 starting quarterbacks in the ACC in the wake of several transfers, such as Carson Beck's to Miami.

The move means Beck — who is recovering from elbow surgery performed in December to repair his right ulnar collateral ligament — is presumably taking over as Cam Ward’s replacement as Miami’s starter for the 2025 season. Beck originally declared for the NFL draft, then entered the transfer portal earlier this week and now will wind up at Miami.
