Sri Lanka won against New Zealand by 63 runs in the first test match held in Galle, thus taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. New Zealand, chasing a target of 275 runs, was bowled out for 211 with Rachin Ravindra top-scoring for them.

Sri Lanka beat New Zealand in the 1st Test of the two-match series in Galle on Monday (September 23).
