Judge Juan Merchan was scheduled to issue a decision Tuesday on whether the Supreme Court's broad presidential immunity ruling means Trump's 34 felony convictions must be tossed out. But the pause on the case until Nov. 19, which was made public Tuesday, means that ruling won't come this week.

The borough's next district attorney, Alvin Bragg, took up the case but narrowed its focus, bringing it back to the "hush money" deal. On March 31, 2023, a grand jury made Trump the first ever former, and future, president indicted for crimes.

President-elect Donald Trump was convicted in May by a Manhattan jury on 34 counts of falsifying business records, which if upheld, could have cost him up to four years in prison.
