Acer is a little late when it comes to releasing its first handheld gaming PC. But now at CES 2025, it seems like the company is trying to make up for lost time by going big. Really big. That’s because later this year,

Acer is releasing an 11-inch PC gaming handheld with the Acer Nitro Blaze 11, and it comes complete with detachable controllers.

At this point it’s unusual for a major tech industry event to pass by without a new handful of handhelds – and while the Nintendo Switch 2 might still be just a twinkle in Nintendo’s eye, the PC gaming handheld market is booming.

Acer's Nitro Blaze 11 also features impressive specs on paper, and its 19.95-inch screen features a 2560x1600 resolution, a.k.a. a 4K display, with an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS with 8 cores, AMD Ryzen AI with 39 AI TOPS, and AMD Radion 780M for graphics.

This gigantic handheld features a massive 11-inch screen and breakaway controllers, like a Frankenstein mix of Switch, Steam Deck, and iPad.

With AMD laptop-grade CPUs and an XXL screen, Acer's big new Windows 11 gaming handheld looks and feels like a heavy hitter.

The PC handheld space continues to grow, and the biggest of all is Acer’s new Nitro Blaze 11. As soon as I saw it announced at CES I knew I had to try and get it in my hands, at least for the sheer curiosity of “Will this thing even fit my hands?

At CES 2025, Acer is the latest manufacturer to unveil a Windows 11-based portable console. After announcing the Nitro Blaze 7 last September, the larger Nitro Blaze 8 and 11 will arrive in Q2 2025. Both systems run on AMD Ryzen 8040 Series CPUs with displays powered by the Radeon 780M iGPU.
