PlayStation Plus is moving away from offering monthly PlayStation 4 games beginning in 2026. The paid subscription service will still offer them “occasionally,” but the main focus of the program will be PS5 games,

You’ll still have access to monthly PS4 games you’ve already redeemed, but Sony is shifting its focus more fully to PS5.

Sony has announced a key change for the future of PlayStation Plus. Sony will shift away from offering PS4 games as it looks to focus on PS5 games instead. Sony said it's making this change as part of the evolution of PS Plus overall. This isn't starting soon, though, and will begin in January 2026.

Sony warns current PlayStation Plus subscribers that PlayStation 4 games are no longer guaranteed key benefits of the freebie games catalog.

So, from January 2026 onwards, native PS5 titles will be the focus of PS Plus, across all three tiers. There will still be a PS4 version thrown in here and there, but it should no longer be an expectation in 12 months. How do you feel about this change to the service?
