( NewsNation) — The Metro Richmond Zoo in Virginia needs help naming its newborn “Moo Deng look-alike.” A pygmy hippopotamus arrived in time for the holidays on Dec. 9 to hippo parents Iris and Corwin, weighing 15 pounds at birth. But she needs a name, and the zoo is asking people to submit their vote through New Year’s Eve.

More than 5,000 people have voted in an online poll to name her, according to the zoo. The attention has led to comparisons to Moo Deng, the internationally famous baby pygmy hippo from Thailand. “I hope she becomes the next Moo Deng,” Lopez said.
