Colorado state lawmaker Jenny Willford has filed a lawsuit against Lyft and Shanu Transportation after she claims she was sexually assaulted.

Lyft records showed that her driver was supposed to be someone named Shanu. Instead, an unvetted driver who didn't match the profile's description showed up, according to the suit.

Nearly 7,000 people have reported being sexually assaulted as passengers or drivers of the Lyft ride-share platform, according to the company's safety reports. Colorado Representative Jenny Willford is among those thousands of victims.
