Firefighters escort body of battalion chief killed in shooting back to Coweta County
COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — Coweta County Fire Rescue escorted home the body of a beloved fire battalion chief who died in an Alabama shooting. Battalion Chief Bart Cauthen worked with the department for more than 24 years. The department lined up for a procession on Thursday.

A Georgia fire chief was shot and killed in Alabama over the weekend after he stopped to help out a driver who struck a deer in Chambers County, police say.
The Broken Arrow Fire Department will now respond to priority calls in some parts of Coweta, improving emergency response times by several minutes.
