Athletics president Dave Kaval will resign from the organization after being the public face of the organization’s planned move from Oakland to Las Vegas.

The Athletics announced on Friday that team president Dave Kaval, a major architect behind the team's departure from Oakland, so that he can "pursue new business opportunities in California," according to a press release.

The A's team president announced Friday that he is resigning from his position to "pursue new business opportunities in California." His last day will be Tuesday. Sandy Dean, a business partner of A's owner John Fisher and member of the team's ownership group, will take over as interim president.
