As far as minor bowls go, you can’t ask for a much better game than what Oklahoma and Navy played Friday afternoon in the Armed Forces Bowl.  The Midshipmen held on for the 21-20 win, denying the Sooners on a last minute 2-point conversion attempt.

Navy quarterback Blake Horvath read the play perfectly and turned it into the longest in school history, a 95-yard touchdown run in the Armed Forces Bowl. “By somebody that’s not really that fast,” Horvath said after the 21-20 win over Oklahoma on Friday.

FORT WORTH — Brent Venables has suffered his second losing season at Oklahoma. Michael Hawkins Jr.’s improvisation scored the Sooners’ second touchdown of the day with 5:56 remaining in the first quarter, but little did the crowd at Amon G. Carter Stadium know, those would almost be OU’s final points of the day.
