We are visiting your area in March of 2020. I had read somewhere that you have a Taste of Mixon on Saturday, March 14th. Is this correct? I can't find anything of that on your website.

I did go to Mixon's Fruit Farms for lunch one day. They are in Bradenton, FL only about 20 minutes from the UTC mall just off of 75 and University Parkway.

We are going to be visiting in the area next month and I really want to see the wildlife refuge at Mixon Fruit Farms. As a supporter of Wildlife, Inc., I want to see how they are caring for the animals. One thing that distresses me terribly is seeing animals in captivity for profit, and animals that are not property cared for. What I'd like to know is if care is taken to prevent stress on the animals in rehabilitation, and if the stories of the lives of the animals who are in captivity indicate that they absolutely cannot be rehabbed and returned to the wild. Thank you.

From Damen “Our wildlife clinic is at a separate location 20 minutes drive from the farm, we rescue, treat and release thousands of native wild animals each year and we are the only state and federally licensed wildlife rescue in the county. The animals we have on display at mixon farms are either disabled /non releasable animals or exotic animals that have been turned over to us and cannot legally be released back to the wild. We are a small place with hope that we will eventually be able to expand through the donations we receive as a non-profit organization.”
