Beautiful park with historical statues, live oaks, gazebo, they are doing some construction so there is is fabric fencing up which blocks the water view, bummer. Historical homes on adjacent streets … Full review by Heidi S

Did you know that there is free parking along the Ashley River side of the park? If you travel down towards the Coast Guard Station there are plenty of spaces along the river.

A lot of homes and inns are around the Battery. Few of the closest John Rutledge House and Elliott House Inn. They are within 0.5 miles. The Battery Carriage house is across the street. Very beautiful and one of the most haunted locations in Charleston. So the stories are told.
Does the park close at a specific time, or can you walk around in the evening?

The city closes the actual park around dusk during the tourist season, but the sidewalk along the river is always open. For safety's sake, I would not be there past 10 at night.

Yes, but it stays busy during the spring and summer. Logistics will be difficult for chairs and other supplies. Doubt they would allow foods, and the homeless will join the other guests. You could hire a local transport co. for your guests, as parking will be a problem. There are many nice locations for weddings all around Charleston that would be easier.
