I actually flew to SF to attend a concert here, and prior to this, I never really paid attention to the acoustics of an auditorium. This is actually the worst concert venue I’ve ever been to. As anot… Full review by qwuirk
Where is the best, safe place to park? Also, is it safe to walk a couple of blocks to paid parking lots? Thank you

There's really no parking AT the auditorium, and since I'm not from the area, I can't attest to the locations of paid garages/lots. When I was trying to figure out the logistics for getting there during my trip, a lot of people suggested using Uber/Lyft to travel and just get dropped off/picked up, and that's what we ended up doing. All in all though, the area didn't seem as sketchy as people often make it out to be. We walked around in the daylight for a while before our concert and got approached by a couple of homeless people but it was mostly just people going about their daily business. It was dark of course by the time we got out, but it was also pouring rain and everyone we saw was just scrambling to get where they were going. Overall, there are enough people still out and about that I think the likelihood of having any problems is pretty low. We had also looked at riding BART downtown and parking at one of the station garages (we were staying way down by the airport). One of the garages (can't remember which one - maybe Millbrae) is right beside a police station, so I thought it might be safer. But after researching we realized round-trip BART tickets were going to end up being incredibly expensive, and ride-sharing ended up working so much better.
Going to see temple of the dog, first time at BGCA. I like the balcony at the Filmore, wondering if BG is similar, and also loge vs. balcony? Thanks!

We are doing a three night Phish run here and are wondering the best option for transportation to and from the venue. Does the BART run that late? Is there any safe public transit options that run late? I know it's kind of a sketchy area so we wanted to stay further away and just take public transit there and back each day. Thanks!

BART only runs until midnight. The "Muni" subway runs a little later but not much and is probably as sketchy as the area. When we attended a two night event at Bill Graham recently, we stayed nearby at the Parc 55 and used Uber to get back & forth. Cost was only around $5 - $8/trip on Uber which was quick and quite reasonable I thought. Have a great trip!
