WEBMar 17, 2006 · To make freight stations work properly, place them next to the railway line, and next to a road as well. Freight stations can be placed in Agricultural zones, so long as the railway next to the station has a neighbour connection.

If you run your tracks through industrial pods, the plants within four (I think) grid squares will load freight directly on the trains.
