I don't know if it was the controller that came with the console or the one from Amazon, but I sent the broken one back to Amazon regardless, with no issue. Ignorance was bliss in my case!

Capping the 'Balance' mode at 40fps and outputting the game within a 120Hz container seems like the easiest fix.

I would keep the door open when the PS5 is in use. I have a similar situation with a traditional wood computer desktop cabinet with my PS5.
